THE TASTING ROOM
On the east end of Long Island we have 36 vineyards. You can ride in your car for hours and see the grape vines along the side of the road. Sometime acres of grapes. The smaller vineyards sometimes do not have their own tasting room and retail shop. They are just there to produce the wine.
In Peconic, LI, NY they have a "Tasting Room" where you can taste the wines from these smaller vineyards and also you can purchase their wine from the "The Tasting Room."
It is an old store front by the railroad tracks. If you are ever on Long Island you need to take a ride to the east end and visit a vineyard or two. You will not be sorry.
This is another exercise of a pen and ink with a watercolour wash.

THE PERFECT MARTINI
The original Martini recipe called for one-half dry gin and one-half dry vermouth. This proportion began to change in the early 40's to two or three parts dry gin to one part dry vermonth. Today, popular proportions for an Extra Dry Martini range from 5-to-1 to an 8-to-1 ratio. The greater the proportion of gin to vermouth, the "drier" the Martini.8x10 oil on masonite.

BAILEY'S GARAGE
My daughter and her husband bought my mother-in-laws home a few years ago. They have done a great deal of work on the home as well as a lot of landscape work. The garage was to have been torn down this year. Instead they rebuilt their wrap around porch, so, the garage is still standing for one more year.
On the peak of the garage is an arrow made out of wood that my husband built when he was a young boy.
Its always sad to see something old be torn down and something new put in its place. However, sometimes it has to happen, which in this case is the situation.
